LX Rotation Creep

LX Rotation Creep

Postby tdtruax » Wed Feb 18, 2015 3:32 pm

I recently purchased a Ergotron 45-241-026 LX Desk Mount. I mounted a new 27" monitor that weights 2.7 Kg (6 Lbs) LG 27MP65HQ.

I want to be able to quickly switch back and forth between Landscape and Portrait. The unit pivot point rotates nicely, but it will not stay in place vertically. The bottom of the monitor has the cable attachments and bottom is heavier than the top, so when rotated to portrait it will not stay vertical. It slowly creeps back toward landscape. I reviewed the Assembly Instruction Manual (888-45-334-W-01 rev. C) Page 8 shows how to lock the rotation in either horizontal or vertical, but there doesn't seem to be an adjustment for friction?

My question is: Is there a friction adjustment for rotation that I can tighten so I can quickly switch back and forth between landscape and portrait without having the rotation drift toward the heavy side?
