LX Dual Stacking arm -- longer pole?

LX Dual Stacking arm -- longer pole?

Postby smalaka » Thu Jan 07, 2016 11:11 pm

I purchased the LX Dual Stacking Arm. The pole is too short, and I would like to replace it. I would like one that is 2 feet long. Where can I buy that?

Hi smalaka,

May I ask, what are you trying to do? Are the monitors too short on the included pole, and you want a higher viewpoint?

Best regards,
Justin

Hi Justin,

Yes -- I'd like to raise the monitors higher up. I have the arms at their max position. FWIW, I have 2 monitors that are stacked on top of each other.

Hi John,

You might be able to do a makeshift pole extension. This thread has the info you need: http://forum.ergotron.com/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=35. In a nutshell, the tube/pole = 1-3/8” diameter, at least 2mm-thick steel, M35 x 1.5 threads to connect to base.

Regards,
Justin

Hi Justin,

Thank you for the specifications. I was planning on completely replacing the pole. Is that possible with these specifications or are there different ones?

Hi John,

Yes, these are the specifications you would use, if you wanted to replace the pole. They should work just fine. :)

Best regards,
Justin

Great thank you Justin! Are you aware of any previous customers going to external online stores? And what those stores might be?

I haven't found anything in the NJ/NYC area. So I'm pretty bummed.

The main problem is that most only do Standard threading, not Metric.

If anyone has been able to locate an online store that does Metric threading, please post!

Was anyone able to find someone to do the threading online or a business in the SF Bay Area (California)?

Thanks!
