'Bubble' in screen where mounting screws are attached...

Postby Loconut » Fri Apr 08, 2016 2:23 am

A few hours after installing and using the (quite heavy) Wacom Cintiq 27QHD, I noticed a faint blueish blot/bubble right in the middle where the Cintiq was attached to the LX HD Sit-Stand.
It spanned half the width of the entire screen. I took it down and laid it on my desk. The day after I checked again, and it seems to be gone now.

Most likely the blot was caused by the layers (LCD > touchscreen mesh > glass plate) separating (I'm also posting this on the Wacom forum to find out if it might be faulty equipment).

I was wondering if anyone here has ever had a similar experience/fix?

I'm sorry but I've never heard of this issue occurring. Perhaps the mounting screws are a bit too long? I would first see if a slightly shorter screw would work to connect the VESA interface to the Wacom (or insert a washer between the screw you're now using and the monitor to effectively shorten the screw length). At this point it is just a guess.

I was thinking the same thing, though I used the screws that were provided with the mount.
I'll be waiting on a reply over at the Wacom Europe forums as well, and than see if shorter screws make a difference.

Thank you for reply!

Hi Loconut,

How has your set up been going since April when you posted this?

How do you find the Cintiq 27QHD and the LX HD Sit-Stand Ergotron arm?

Cheers!

Woah,

Totally forgot to 'resolve' this thread, sorry.

Good news, though; the shorter screws turned out to solve the pressure problem on the back of the screen and are just as sturdy as the longer ones.
The arm itself was a bit tricky to mount (but only due to my desk dimensions), but I found a workaround and now all is good.

So yeah, consider this thread officially closed (or keep it for others' future reference).

Thank you for your concern!
