Ergotron MX Vertical Adjustment can't hold Dell U30

Ergotron MX Vertical Adjustment can't hold Dell U30

Postby Playere » Wed Aug 20, 2014 9:13 am

Previously I just had a small monitor on there and things were fine for adjustment purposes. I recently remounted and put on my 30" Dell monitor and now the vertical adjustment won't hold the monitor up, it just sags down.

I tried the screw at the first joint of the arm (going in from the bottom up) but it is so tight I couldn't loosen or tighten it and it just stripped both my allen key and the screw... There was no way that thing was moving. Am I trying to adjust the wrong screw here? There's no way it could go tighter and there's also no way the arm was going to hold up the 30" monitor. All of the other adjustments are fine, just the vertical positioning.

Good afternoon Playere,

Just to clarify, are you turning the correct screw? Here is a link to the install manual for that arm.
Also, on page 9, under the Adjustment Step is an image from the manual showing the correct screw to turn.

Let us know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Justin
