Adjusting the spring tension of the notebook tray

Adjusting the spring tension of the notebook tray

Postby tracyevans » Sun Mar 20, 2011 4:53 pm

I am using a notebook arm mount tray on an articulating arm. The item I am using on the tray is a bit heavy, so the tray tilts to the lowest position. I would like to adjust the spring so the tray (not the arm) does not droop so much. Is it possible to adjust that spring?

Yes, absolutely. There is a Phillips-head screw on the bottom of the pivot assembly (the larger one directly in the center). Turn that screw clockwise to increase tension. See page 14 of the manual for details: http://www.ergotron.com/Portals/0/tp/M/ ... 5-040M.pdf

Weight capacity for the LX Arm when using the laptop tray is 12 lbs (5.5 kg), so I'm guessing your equipment should work.
